What we do

Types of wagons and flat cars

Hopper-type wagon

For bulk cargo — flour, grain, crushed stone, cement — and for non-aggressive oil products such as viscous bitumen and petroleum coke.

Open wagon

For bulk cargo — ore, coal, fluxes, timber — as well as small containers and compact special machinery.

Boxcar

General-purpose boxcars carry packaged, piece and bulk goods. Special ones carry cars, paper and steel in coils, apatite concentrate and other cargo.

Flat car

For long, oversized and piece cargo, containers and equipment that need no protection from the weather. General-purpose flat cars have side boards and a floor deck; specialised ones have no side boards.

Refrigerated wagon

For perishable cargo: it maintains a temperature from +15 to −18 °C with an outside temperature from −45 to +35 °C.

Insulated (thermos) wagon

For perishable cargo that has been pre-chilled or pre-heated. It has no refrigeration unit: the temperature is held by insulation and dry ice, so there are limits on transit time and distance.

Dump car

For carrying and automatically unloading overburden, coal, ore, soil, sand and crushed stone. Capacity ranges from 60 to 145 tonnes and above, depending on the number of axles.

Hopper car

A self-unloading wagon for bulk cargo: coal, ore, cement, grain. Open hoppers carry cargo that is not affected by precipitation; covered ones carry grain, cement and carbon black.

Wagon for pipes and timber

A specialised flat car for long cargo.

Car-carrying wagon

A covered double-deck wagon with mesh sides for carrying cars.

Tank car

For oil and oil products, liquefied gas, acids and alkalis, water, milk, molasses, and also flour and cement.
